Bonnie Spivey is the instructor and founder of Swimkids. She has taught and coached swimming for over twenty years. She began swimming at a young age and has embraced the sport ever since. Bonnie has owned and operated her own swim school and personal training business since 1985. She has taught all age groups and skill levels in both private and group lessons., in addition to youth swim team coaching at local High Schools.

Bonnie has coached her own Masters Swimming Team, running Underwater Video Swim Clinics in the United States, Synchronized Swimming in Canada, and has set up a Women's International Health Club. She has developed and coached swim programs in the Diplomatic Quarter in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. She has also worked extensively with Triathletes training for the Ironman Triathlon Competitions and has been a Competitive Ocean Lifeguard. 

After a few years developing a swim program at Manhattan Country Club and the birth of her daughter Taylor, Bonnie worked with the Montessori School in Manhattan Beach, CA.
